Team Status Update for 3/14

We spent a lot of time the week before break finalizing the design review report, which I think was really useful to force us to think about every decision we were making – and also got us to decide on parts for real and order everything. Right before break began we received a lot of our parts, and began installing the software for CV on the RPis. We were able to detect gestures and worked on figuring out how to translate this into movements for the COMOVO.

Obviously now a lot has changed – our team likely will be in different places and we’re not sure how we’re going to modify the project to be able to have some finished product in the next few months remotely. This week I think we’ll need to discuss a lot about how our project will change to be able to be completed virtually – maybe creating a simulation, or something like that. It could still be interesting to do the CV and audio processing parts, although we’ll need to get the camera and microphones for that and I don’t know if we’ll be able to…

This week will probably be a lot of change as we figure out the modified requirements for our project.
