This week I continued working on integration and the final report.
So far I’m fairly happy with how the final report is. Some input from Alton and Eric to flesh out some of the sections will be helpful and hopefully we’ll be finished.
As for the integration, we’re almost done integrating the network stack. We’ve confirmed that the issues we’re seeing are almost all crosstalk and/or noise generated. Unfortunately, we started network integration too late to realize we needed a hardware revision so we have to find a way to ground pins between data wires in a very limited way to eliminate crosstalk, using the extra pins we wired into the rev 1.0 PCBs. This is confirmed to be a crosstalk/noise issue because we attempted to connect boards directly and used fully grounded pins with just the data wires functioning and the communication works nearly flawlessly.
We’re at the end of time for this project so I’ll say little about the schedule, but it’s been an interesting semester. This project has definitely been the largest one I’ve worked on in terms of personal contribution. Lots of fun.
