The goal of our project is to create a real-time violin practice tool for beginner musicians. Any user can upload a sheet music pdf to our web application, manually change any pitches or note types in the music, then play along while our application displays correct versus incorrect notes being played. This tool will help musicians practice and correct mistakes with immediate feedback. Our goal is to develop an application for beginners, meaning limited to monophonic inputs (one note at a time, i.e. no chords). We are aiming to create a clear and user-friendly website so that people of all ages can enjoy our software! Because this project is accessible through a website, musicians can integrate it with their practicing anywhere, whether it is on their laptop at home or on their cell phone in the school band room. As musicians ourselves, we hope to create a tool that is useful to many up-and-coming performers!
