It is incredibly difficult for a coach to record splits for more than a few people at any given time, and swimmers can\u2019t reliably remember their splits to write down at the end of their workout. This is a problem that faces anybody from age-group clubs to masters swim teams, and from the NCAA athlete to the recreational swimmer.<\/p>\n<p>To solve this problem, we are\u00a0developing a tool for tracking swimmers throughout their workouts. In particular, we plan to use aerial video footage of a pool to measure and record splits and distances as well as to identify strokes that swimmers are swimming.
