AIR (Augmented Instrumental Reality) is a wearable system that reimagines the guitar to be lightweight, portable, and accessible to more people. Instead of relying on a traditional instrument, users wear a wristband that senses strumming motions and finger pads that register chord selections, which together produce guitar sounds through a connected computer. Designed with comfort, ease of use, and quick setup in mind, AIR makes it possible for musicians (including those with limited dexterity or coordination) to play expressive, recognizable music without the physical barriers of heavy or complex instruments.
