This week I accomplished with my team, selecting the parts for the LoRa network that will be facilitating communication between the sensor box on the bike and the box located at the station. We also have selected a cellular board and service provider that we believe will work for our station to main database updates. This required some research into how LoRa networks work and research into LTE boards.
Overall, we finalized our parts list and should be ready to order components to allow for further work. Here is an image of our planned budget:
Additionally, we helped Stella in creating the slide deck and rehearsing for the Proposal Presentation where she did an excellent job presenting our project.
Regarding the planned schedule, I would say that we are currently on pace. Since we do not currently have any components we cannot begin on the embedded code or setting up the Lora/cellular networks.
The plan for this week is to order our components and begin initial setup and testing. More specifically, I hope to with Jae have our Lora boards communicating with each other and have begun basic bringup of our air quality sensors to begin validating against existing ground stations from the ACHD.
