Specifically, I worked on the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Improved Camera Latency<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Collaborated with the team to measure latency from user input to system output by switching to MJPEG compression for the stereo camera\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reduced latency to a range of 200 &#8211; 250 ms which is about a 200 ms improvement from the previous camera configuration<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Project Status<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I am currently a little behind with the project timeline. The team was busy this week because of the semester coming to a close, and we we\u2019re not able to get an early start to our last additions such as the z-axis. However, we met over the weekend and made a plan for success next week. We have allotted sufficient time next week to finish course assignments and add the final touches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Goals for Next Week<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Integrate Z-axis into the gantry system and implement depth calculation in OpenCV<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Conduct final use case tests to include in the final report (water pouring and more object manipulation<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week, I focused on making some optimizations to the camera settings to reduce latency.
