D.R.O.P
Delivery Robot with Otonomous Parachute
Our project addresses the issue of emergency blood and medicine delivery in remote areas. This is accomplished by dropping packages from airplanes that guide themselves to their respective destinations. These self-guided packages can be dropped in large batches, and their onboard propulsion and compute units allows them to reach a myriad of targets for emergency deployment of their payloads. Current technology is cost prohibitive and requires human guidance to deliver these emergency packages, but our project aims to remove this element. Onboard controls will allow the device to autonomously steer while it descends to the ground with a parachute.
