iRecruit is an interview assistant to provide software engineering job-seekers with the opportunity to practice for the interview process. Although there exist several written guidelines about common interview practices and questions, there is a lack of opportunity to practice a simulated interview with a “real” interviewer. Especially during these unprecedented times, students are challenged with navigating fully virtual interviews and practicing how to conduct themselves during behavioral and technical interviews. In iRecruit, for behavioral interviews, users video record themselves answering common behavioral questions. During the recording, we plan to track the user’s eye movement and screen alignment, and provide real-time feedback on these factors. For technical interviews, users audio record their skills. iRecruit will create a speech-to-text model to feed into a neural network that generates a technical/coding question relevant to the interviewees skillset.
